Falcon Point - Salt Cedar Tract
This conservation easement (April 2010) preserves a 16 acre tract, which is composed primarily of tidal salt
marsh and salt shrub thicket, but also displays residual strips of high ground around its
perimeter.
The land has been managed by the Kiawah Island Community Association (KICA) as a wildlife area and contains ecologically rich marsh edge, pond edge and scrub-shrub habitats. It is one of several areas identified as critical bobcat habitat by the Town of Kiawah Island’s “Bobcat Management
Guidelines.”
KICA retains ownership of the property, granting a conservation easement to the Kiawah
Conservancy, who will be stewards of the property. The conservation easement formally preserves this unique area of habitat in perpetuity.
