168 Bluebill Court
The property at 168 Bluebill Ct is set back from the road, and is located near the intersection of Governor’s Dr and Flyway Dr. The lot displays dense canopy cover, moderate vegetation density in the understory, and an extensive number of dead trees. The canopy is dominated by laurel and live oaks, pines and palmettos. There are several dead pines on the property, and a few stumps. Vegetation in the understory consists of red bay, beautyberry, and yaupon holly. The lot can be characterized as having exceptional maritime forest habitat, with an increasing density as one approaches the golf course side of the property. The lot has great ecological value as it can be viewed as an “island” of maritime forest habitat within a developed area. The property is adjacent to developed lots (to the southeast and southwest) and golf course to the east. Since the property provides a key maritime forest environment between these developed areas, it is likely that the property provides important wildlife habitat.
This property was preserved in October 2004.
