107 Marsh Elder Court

The property at 107 Marsh Elder Ct. is located near the corner of Governors Dr. and Marsh Elder Ct., near Marsh Island Park, within the Marsh Island Park enclave.  There is a narrow cut of marsh that is adjacent to the property along its northeast edge.  107 Marsh Elder Ct. displays a dense understory, especially in the center of the lot.  Vegetation is sparser along the property’s borders with 106 and 108.  The understory is dominated by wax myrtles, immature cabbage palmettos, numerous vines, and other hearty vegetation.  Vines are extensive throughout the lot’s interior.  The forest canopy displays several magnolias, loblolly pines, cabbage palmettos and live oaks.  There is one large live oak in the center of the lot, and there are several large oaks and palmettos at the backside of the property (farthest from the road), along the cut of marsh.  The lot also has several dead trees and stumps that could potentially provide habitat for some animals – including bobcats.

107 Marsh Elder Court was preserved by the Kiawah Conservancy in February 2006.
